Η σπουδαία Erica Davis Brown με την Daliborka Vilipic της Laveccini Parma !

DYNAMO SURVIVE ESPERIDES SCARE, KURSK AND GALA ALSO THROUGH

05 February 2009

Ravenna Esperides threw a major scare into EuroCup Women favorites Dynamo Moscow on Thursday before falling 60-52.

The second-leg defeat left the Greeks with a nine-point loss on aggregate in the Eighth-Finals tie after the Russians only prevailed 75-74 in the first encounter in Greece.

Joining Dynamo in the Quarter-Finals were Dynamo Kursk and Galatasaray after they also won their respective legs.

Natalia Hejkova's Dynamo Moscow was in a dogfight with Ravenna Esperides.

The game was knotted at 32-32 less than two minutes before half-time.

That's when Dynamo landed important blows, going on a 10-2 run for a 42-34 lead at the break.

A three-point play by Janell Burse and then a Belinda Snell shot from the arc sparked the surge that gave Hejkova's team some breathing space.

At the break, Burse had 12 points and the emerging Russia international Marina Kuzina 14 for Dynamo.

Ravenna Esperides looked in danger of being blown out early in the fourth when Anastasia Logunova's jump shot gave the home side a 54-40 lead.

The visitors hit back quickly with an eight-point burst - the last six on three-balls from Styliani Kaltsidou.

Ravenna could have drawn even closer on their next four possessions but Argyroula-Kiriaki Kalogirou, Dimitra Kalentzou, Kaltsidou and Olga Chatzinikolaou all missed shots.

The next to score was Anete Jekabsone-Zogota with a lay-up and Dynamo held on to advance to the Quarter-Finals.

Kuzina finished with 19 points and Burse 18 for Dynamo, while Kaltsidou top-scored for Ravenna with 18.
